Do's of Waxing

  • Take two Advil 1/2 hour before your appointment. Better safe than sorry.
  • Apply numbing cream and follow all directions of the product for most effectiveness. Numbing Cream that contains lidocaine is helpful because it will temporarily numb the area and prevent pain.
  • Limit caffeine intake on the day of your waxing service. Caffeine stimulates the nervous system which increases sensitivity.
  • Consult Mother Nature before booking your waxing appointment. Schedule your appointment several days after menstruation, when you are less sensitive to discomfort.
  • Wear comfortable cotton panties to avoid irritation.
  • Inform your Specialist of any medications you are taking, such as antibiotics, Accutane, or topical creams, such as Retin-A.
  • Gently Exfoliate two - three times a week and 48 hours before your wax.

Don'ts of Waxing

  • DON'T excessively sweat or cause friction to the skin (gym, sauna, sex, etc.) for 24-48 hours after waxing.
  • DON'T take a hot bath/shower for the first 24 hours after your wax.
  • DON'T expose skin to sun or tanning beds for 24 hours after your wax.
  • DON'T apply deodorant to newly waxed underarms.
  • DON'T apply moisturizer, lotions, or oils before any wax service.
  • NEVER wax an area after using any type of peels.
  • DON'T shave between waxing appointments. This makes the hair more resistant to future waxing.
  • DON'T forget to gently exfoliate two - three times a week.
  • DON’T forget to reschedule every 4 weeks.
How long does my hair have to be to wax?
The length of a grain of rice, or 1/4" is the ideal length for waxing. If it is your first-time waxing, then we recommend you refrain from shaving for two weeks or more before your reservation. After your first wax, it is recommended to wax every 3-4 weeks.
How do I prepare for my wax?
Arrive with clean skin, without any heavy lotions or oils. We recommend exfoliating your skin regularly, but please DO NOT exfoliate on the day of your appointment.
Is it safe to get waxed while using Retin-A, Retinoids, or Accutane?
Nope! Discontinue use of topicals at least one week prior to your wax, and you MUST NOT use Accutane for at least 6 months before waxing ANY part of your body.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wearing loose fitting clothing is always best.
How long will it take for my hair to grow back?
Clients typically schedule appointments on a 3-4 week basis for all body waxing services.  All hair types are different, but as you wax, each time your hair tends to get thinner, lighter, and softer.
“I’m worried about the pain, what can I do to reduce it?”
Taking anti-inflammatory medications such as Advil or Tylenol 30-45 minutes prior to your appointment will help ease the discomfort.  But don’t be worried, the wax we use is a hypoallergenic wax created for sensitive skin. We promise you will be just fine, you’re getting waxed by the best. Clients most common comment after waxing is “OH WOW THAT WASN’T BAD AT ALL!”
Is it ok to get waxed on my period?
Yup! Just make sure to manage your flow with a tampon or menstrual cup.  Also please take into consideration that your skin may be more sensitive during this time in your hormonal cycle. Schedule your waxing service for the first 2 weeks after your cycle. Your sensitivity level is a lot less during this time. Pregnancy also increases sensitivity.
